WHO WE ARE

Our main office located at the historic Berne Ice Plant, in Charlotte Amalie, in the US Virgin Islands. We strive to enhance experiences thru collaborative design, incorporating sustainability and sensitivity to the footprint we leave in our built environment. We strive to be thought leaders, beginning with the end in mind, and think beyond design.

We strive for personalized attention that begins with listening to the client and becoming finely attuned to each project’s specific needs. Each design solution is a singular response to a given set of unique criteria and conditions. The specific conditions are the physical and technological influences that the program dictates as well as how these affect both the building and its entire environment. By analyzing and responding to each of these influences, the firm arrives at a design solution that is particularly and uniquely appropriate for the project.

While we have primarily focused on architecture, urban design and interior design, our work has varied from producing environmental reports, building additions, historical renovations, master plans and interior design. We are committed to enhancing experiences as a design mission. We incorporate sustainable technologies, minimize the environmental impact, flexible to changing technology and work to transforming communities thru design.

As an intentional small firm, we are committed to enhancing experiences for others thru collaborative design and believe in an inclusive, collaborative team approach, bring all the participants together and determine the true underlying values. Collaborating with colleges of different areas of expertise has afforded the clients of The Bourne Group, LLC enhanced experiences, greater sustainability, larger savings and better overall project control. We are very receptive to forming associations with other firms and individuals in order to augment our resources, and produce a better collaborative project for our clients. We also welcomes any opportunity afforded us to strive as associate architects for out of town firms or creating consortiums as needed. We will only pursue projects for which we are adequately experienced, solely or jointly.
